Villa 1565 Hotel Historic St. Augustine FL

So when we made this reservation it was months ago and it seemed as thought when we saw the Pics it looked well kept ,maintained and the area didnt look bad... Well once we got there it didnt look as though the pictures matched the reality of the Motel. Aswell as some uncomfortable vibes as soon as when we parked and the 1st front desk person we spoke too seemed rude and didnt wanna help . Now the only good thing is the location if you wanna walk about 20 mins to get to the Historic District but if its a really hot day...its gonna be a burner and you'd best stay hydrated. When we got back the 2nd front desk agent was much more nicer and welcoming then the other one and offered us two different rooms, a king bed or a 2 queen which was bigger. We went with the king bed and once we got in..oh man it was a tight corner and the room smelt very musky and the furniture was very outdated and the windows in the bathroom was very much nice expect for there big walk in shower . Unfortunately we only stayed for 30 mins after checking in and felt uneasy since the beginning and with the 1st front desk agent not being so welcoming we decided to leave and with the vibes that felt uneasy yeah...we left .

Highly disappointed in our stay this past weekend. The pictures must be generated from AI because it does not look like what the pictures show online. The first room we had, was incredibly small and not well maintained, the bed squeaked just sitting on it, water damage on the door and walls, pretty sure there was a booger on the bathroom wall, mold in the shower. We were switched to a bigger room, but the quality was still not as displayed online. There were holes on the walls, water damage on the doors, walls and the ceiling. A mystery stain on the bathroom counter, mold in the shower. The strong smell of Clorox quickly faded away and turned to a musty smell. The breakfast was questionable, and there were ants crawling on the table where we sat and tried to eat. The quality of the room was completely unacceptable for the price we paid.

Great location. Beds are comfortable. Room was well stocked with towels. The breakfast was delicious, loads of options. The only thing that was not on point was the shower/tub was not draining properly. Over all not a bad option for lodging when visiting St.Augustine.

The photos are misleading at best. The rooms were dirty and poorly maintained. There were water-damaged walls and doors, rusty fixtures, and mystery stains on the walls, floors, and even the sink. Some of these stains could have been removed with a rag and a little cleaner, but that apparently was too much effort. The breakfast was mediocre at best, featuring powdered eggs and rubbery sausage. For the price we paid, we expected much nicer accommodations. The only positive aspects of our stay were the woman who checked us in—she was friendly, helpful, and very pleasant—and the fact that the trolley stops directly on the hotel property, which makes it convenient if you plan to use it. Overall, this hotel did not meet our expectations and was disappointing given the cost.

The worst hotel—dirty, bad-smelling, and neglected; it needs better maintenance. It looks like a run-down, seedy motel. I don't know how Expedia rates it as a three-star hotel. I don't recommend for nothing

Great location. The rooms were clean, big bed and comfortable. Breakfast was good and free. Will stay here again when we come back to St Augustine.

This is my go to when I come to St. Augustine. Its far from presidential but very do able. The staff is great they really dont bother you. They have free breakfast not anything to write home about but free and do able. There pool is nice. There is a liquor store right up front and its in walking distance of the city so you don't need to pay to park. Its home of the senator oak tree thats 600 years old and out the back exit alley is a beautiful oak canopy lined street. It could use a wash outside and a trim of the landscaping but like I said its by far presidential but worth the vibes.

Room was unsanitary and uninhabitable. Staff was understanding and facilitated the cancellation and refund, but be aware that the advertised photos across booking sites are falsified.

This is an historic hotel, located in the heart of old St. Augustine. It looks quite charming from the outside, but the rooms could definitely use some upgrades. Our "suite" was large and mostly devoid of furniture. The room had a musty odor and one of the ac wall units sounded like it belonged at the Daytona 500. The hotel is also on the Old Trolley route due to its proximity to the Fountain of Youth, and the bell dinging, along with the drivers narration can be annoying. That being said, the location is awesome, parking is easy, and the staff is very nice. Plus it's right across the street from Maci's, the best soft serve ever!
