Schmitty's West Hollywood

Schmitty's opened in December 2022 at 8737 Santa Monica Boulevard, in the original GymBar space. It's run by the team behind the now-closed Fubar. It calls itself a neighbourhood gay bar and is built for conversation, not dancing. There's an old piano where you'd expect a DJ booth, a dim mid-century room with queer bar memorabilia, and a big heated patio. It opens at 3pm on weekdays and 1pm at weekends, and closes at 2am. Happy hour runs 4 to 8pm Monday to Thursday and 3 to 7pm Friday and Saturday, with $5 beers and $7 well drinks. In April 2026 the bar shut for ten days over a state licence suspension and reopened later that month.
