Santiago has a gay sauna scene centered in and around Barrio Bellavista and the adjacent neighborhoods. The venues are fewer in number than in São Paulo or Buenos Aires, reflecting Santiago's smaller gay scene overall, but they are consistent and properly maintained. Prices are higher than in Colombia or Brazil but still affordable by European standards.

What to expect

Santiago saunas follow the standard format: reception, lockers, showers, wet and dry sauna, common areas, and private cubicles. Most include a dark room. The quality differential between venues is less extreme than in some larger cities — the established venues in Santiago maintain reasonable standards consistently.

Traffic peaks on Friday and Saturday evenings. Weekdays are quieter but not empty. Winter months (June–August) see increased traffic as the cold weather makes the warm interior more appealing. The city gets genuinely cold in winter — below freezing on some nights — which gives the sauna a different functional role than in warmer cities.
