Gay Bars & Nightlife in The Hague
The Hague's LGBTQ+ nightlife is small but genuine — a tight cluster of dedicated gay cafés in the city centre rather than a strip of big clubs. Almost everything sits within a few minutes' walk around the little street 't Achterom, nearby Schoolstraat and the antique-lined Denneweg, so a night out here is easy to navigate on foot.

Café de Vink — the oldest gay bar
Café de Vink on Schoolstraat is The Hague's oldest gay bar and the natural anchor of an evening: cosy and sociable early on, with dancing as the night goes on. It draws a friendly, mixed-age local crowd and is the first stop most regulars recommend.
Café 't Achterom — hidden-street charm
Café 't Achterom is a warm, intimate bar tucked on the tiny 't Achterom lane, known for its regular themed nights and its community feel. It pairs naturally with de Vink for a two-stop crawl.
Café De Landman — the classic brown café
Cafe De Landman on the Denneweg is a proper Dutch gay brown café that has served the community for more than three decades — wood-panelled, unpretentious and built around good beer and conversation.
COC Café — the community drop-in
COC Café, run by COC Haaglanden, is a welcoming social café at the local chapter of the Netherlands' historic LGBTQ+ organisation — a relaxed place to meet people rather than a party venue.
Gay-Friendly Clubs & a Cruise Bar
For something livelier and more mixed, Club PIP Den Haag in the BINK36 creative complex hosts the recurring "Parish" queer night, and 27 Club near 't Achterom runs open-minded dance nights. The Boss on the Rijswijkseweg is the city's specialist gay and bi men's cruise bar, with a darkroom and late men-only sessions — a small venue with limited, changeable hours, so always check ahead.

Where & when
The cafés are busiest Thursday to Saturday from mid-evening; opening hours are modest, so check each venue's own page before travelling for a specific night.
No sauna in town
The Hague no longer has a gay sauna (the last closed in 2021); the nearest bathhouses are in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, both a short train ride away.
Safety
The Hague is safe and accepting day and night. Use normal city common sense, and standard precautions if you visit the Scheveningen dune cruising area after dark.
