About the venue
Saarein is a long-running bar at Elandsstraat 119 in the Jordaan, not in the Reguliersdwarsstraat area. For decades it was known as one of Amsterdam's lesbian bars, and today it is a mixed queer neighbourhood bar…
“Queerest place in the Jordaan area but inclusive and welcoming to anyone. Run by the fiercest and friendliest crew you will ever meet. Their history is very interesting, they began as a radical political lesbian café in the seventies. A real must-see and hidden gem. They have a website and a Facebook page. Serve good organic food as well.” — Studio CK9, Google
“I only paid 3€ for a sparkling water and got a great evening and 5 makeouts in return. Wonderful sapphic spot that any girl/they looking to meet fun and awesome people should check out while in Amsterdam ^^” — Alexyo?, Google
