Allies Act Up: Bystander Intervention for Trans Allies
About the event
Allyship can take many forms, but they all require action. Learn how to step in when you see or hear violence towards our trans community. This training covers the 5 D’s of being an active bystander -Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay, and Direct – plus ideas for what to say and a chance to practice.
The facilitators and organizers of this training are part of the trans community and have offered their time and knowledge to create this opportunity for allies. We believe cost shouldn’t be a barrier but welcome donations both at the time of RSVP and at the door. Donations will go towards supply costs (printing, participant materials, etc.), a thank you to the facilitators, and used to host future workshops.
