Hunger Action at DC Central Kitchen
About the event
Join us to volunteer with DC Central Kitchen, a close partner organization of the EDCJCC. DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) is an iconic nonprofit and social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty through job training and job creation. The organization provides hands-on culinary job training for individuals facing high barriers to employment while creating living wage jobs and bringing nutritious, dignified food where it is most needed.
DCCK welcomes volunteers ages 12 and older, and volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone. Teens ages 12-18 are also invited to volunteer with the Youth Action Institute, which is chaperoned by EDCJCC staff.
There is limited space for this program and registration is required for participation. As DC Central Kitchen relies on a specific number of volunteers to be able to produce the meals they need, we ask that you only register if you are committed to showing up to volunteer on this day. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mira at msmith@edcjcc.org.
