Feast é o festival de artes e cultura queer de Adelaide. Ele acontece por cerca de três semanas todo novembro e existe desde o final dos anos 1990: a edição de 2025 foi anunciada como seu 28º ano, e o festival diz que completa 30 anos em 2027. Não é um Pride de parada e festa. A maior parte da programação é teatro, cabaret, comédia, artes visuais, palestras e eventos comunitários, muitos deles pequenos e em locais suburbanos, ao lado de alguns grandes dias gratuitos que reúnem a todos.
O programa funciona como um festival de acesso aberto. O Feast produz alguns dos eventos e registra os demais de artistas independentes e grupos comunitários, portanto a qualidade varia e os preços vão de ingressos gratuitos a ingressos de teatro completos. O Adelaide Queer Film Festival no The Piccadilly, em North Adelaide, funciona como uma seção dentro dele. Os momentos públicos gratuitos são a festa de rua de abertura e o Picnic in the Park de encerramento, que conta com um mercado, barracas de comida e um show de cães apresentado pela cofundadora Margie Fischer.
Na prática: novembro em Adelaide é quente, e a maioria dos locais fica perto do CBD. Se seu tempo for curto, escolha o fim de semana de abertura ou o piquenique de encerramento, e depois use o programa online para escolher os espetáculos.
O festival de 2025 aconteceu de 1 a 23 de novembro com 117 eventos em 67 locais, marcando 50 anos desde que a Austrália do Sul se tornou o primeiro estado australiano a descriminalizar a homossexualidade. O festival de 2026 foi oficialmente anunciado para 1 a 22 de novembro de 2026, com o tema Alegria. O InDaily relatou mais de 150 eventos, o maior programa que o Feast já teve. A festa de rua de abertura gratuita é na Hyde Street em 30 de outubro, e o Picnic in the Park de encerramento é na Whitmore Square/Iparrityi no domingo, 22 de novembro, com Bernie Van Tiel como atração principal. A diretora executiva Skye Bee e a diretora criativa Katherine Sortini lideram o festival. O Feast não publica um número confiável de público, e não encontramos um independente.
