A Tokyo Rainbow Pride é o maior evento LGBTQ+ do Japão, realizado todo mês de junho no coração da maior cidade do mundo. Depois de anos de crescimento rápido, hoje reúne mais de 200 mil pessoas no fim de semana do festival, transformando o Parque Yoyogi e os distritos vizinhos de Harajuku e Shibuya em uma celebração alegre da identidade queer em uma das cidades mais dinâmicas da Ásia.
O desfile de domingo é o centro: milhares atravessam Shibuya e Harajuku com fantasias elaboradas, faixas e música. O Pride Festival no Yoyogi roda por vários dias, com palcos, vendedores de comida e ONGs. O patrocínio corporativo cresceu muito nos últimos anos, refletindo um clima social que melhora aos poucos, mas com firmeza, para o público LGBTQ+ no Japão.
