Vrontonero Beach

Vrontonero is a remote, unspoiled naturist beach at the far-eastern end of Laganas Bay, tucked below the cliffs near Dafni on the south coast of Zakynthos. It is best known among gay travellers because its easternmost stretch is a long-established gay-naturist section — quiet, scenic and free of the resort crowds. There are no sunbeds, bars or facilities of any kind; you bring your own water and shade and reach it on foot along a rough path. The beach sits inside the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, one of the most important loggerhead (Caretta caretta) turtle nesting areas in the Mediterranean. Access is therefore seasonal and can be restricted or closed for wildlife protection, and nesting beaches in Laganas Bay are off-limits between dusk and dawn from May to August. Visit by day, respect all signage and roped-off nesting zones, take every piece of litter home, and treat it as the fragile protected habitat it is.
