Booked Browns for our weeding anniversary weekend. The check in was efficient and helpful given we arrived in the middle of the Sardine festival, so all roads leading to the hotel were closed to vehicles, so we ended up walking a fair way with our suitcases (not the hotel's fault at all). We were shown to our room which was excellent and then headed out to grab some dinner locally. The hotel is in such a great location and loads of restaurants and bars close by. Had a quick dinner then back to the hotel for a drink and bed. The weekend was brilliant with trips to Sintra and other locations. The hotel staff were excellent, the bar staff great and the food (we only had breakfast) was great. All in all I would recommend the hotel as a great location and friendly but efficient staff/service. We will definitely return.

With a location just off one of Lisbon's classiest streets you might expect Brown's to be prohibitively expensive. Happily, it wasn't for the duration of our visit at the end of March. The hotel is of the "boutique" style, and this is typified by the rooms which are inventively decorated and have good quality fixtures and fittings, such as Smeg appliances, and Pure and Roberts radios. There was even a retro Marshall amplifier in our room for streaming music from phones etc. Unusual artwork on the walls was a nice touch too. Bed linen and towels were of good quality and changed daily. Large bathroom towels were appreciated. Although we didn't eat in the brasserie at lunch and dinner, we took breakfast there where a range of hot and cold dishes were available, alongside the usual breakfast drinks. The star of the show however, is the lounge area, centrally placed on the ground floor where one can relax with one of many cocktails served by the excellent and knowledgeable staff, and perhaps peruse one of the eclectic high-end books piled around the area. Brown's is a nice place to be, and perfectly located for exploring Lisbon's many sights and experiences.

Great stay at Browns Central Lisbon. The decor is stylish and modern with a warm, artistic touch that gives the hotel a unique personality. The location is perfect, right in the center and close to everything. The staff were excellent, and the beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve experienced. We booked a tuk tuk tour directly through the front desk, Natalya was our guide, very knowledgeable and she tailored the tour to our needs. The lounge serves fantastic cocktails, thank you to the staff, definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

When I first walked into the hotel, it did not look as upscale as I thought it was going to be. I was very pleasantly surprised that my room was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. And once I wandered around, I found the common areas to be very beautiful and unique. You can’t beat the location. I had a fantastic stay and highly recommend.

A very nice hotel in an ideal location. Staff were welcoming and the room was exceptionally clean. A pleasant surprise was how nice the linens were and the comfortable bed. One recommendation - open breakfast an hours earlier to facilitate early starters

This hotel is truly spectacular. It represents true good taste, it is full of first-rate details but in the best style quiet luxury. Wherever you look there is comfort, design, spaces for guests to be comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, as is the staff's attention. Definitely within the top 3 hotels in Lisbon not to say the best related price/location/quality. Bravo!

Generally, a nice hotel. The good – The location is wonderful for easy sightseeing. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The bar/brasserie is lovely and the food is excellent. The breakfast buffet is great, lots of choice and particularly good fruit and yogurt – other than the hot drinks machine, which doesn’t deliver very nice tea or coffee. The bathroom was tiny, but well laid out and the shower was good. The free bottle of wine was a nice touch. The less good - I knew my room would be small when I booked it, and that was fine as I wasn’t planning on spending much time in it. However, I hadn’t expected the lack of storage. There was just a tiny cupboard (room for four hangers and an ironing board). Not one drawer to stash, for example, underwear in. It might have been ok for one night if one weren’t unpacking much. But I was staying for a week. I had to pile all my clothes in the very small space under the hangers, and catch it every time it fell out. My shoes went into the space where the iron lived. No nightstands, just two slightly rickety tables on either side of the bed. There was a large table right at the end of the bed, but it was completely covered in appliances, tiny cups, glasses, canisters and so on. All the appliances were very high end, but only the kettle was necessary. I had to put all the other appliances on the floor under one of the little tables, just so I had somewhere to put my belongings. One of my friends had a room that was much the same size, but differently decorated, so it actually had storage space. Why not have equal storage in all rooms? The hardwood floors look great, but the lack of carpet means that there is quite a lot of noise from adjacent rooms, as well as from the street. The corridors are painted black and the lighting isn’t great, so they feel unnerving and not safe. I would stay here again because of the location and how nice the staff were. But I would not want the same room.

We stayed in Brown’s central to celebrate my mother’s 70th. Excellent location. Would highly recommend because of this. Beautiful rooms, small but perfect. My parents had a superior room but our standard room was very good, and our bathroom was also slightly bigger than theirs. Not worth the extra money for a superior to be honest. The hotel is fabulous. Funky decor, lovely food, excellent cocktails. Very considerate and efficient staff apart from one extremely rude and disrespectful lady serving drinks. She did apologise but the damage was done. However, the attention to detail from all other staff more than made up for her appalling behaviour. We will definitely revisit. Lisbon was stunning.
