*Situation resolved promptly* I went to Portugal Jewels specifically to buy a necklace that was on display in the store. The item was wrapped in plastic with a visible price tag, but at the time of payment we were charged a higher price, with the justification that this was the old price. However, according to applicable consumer legislation, the price shown on the item must be the price charged, so we expected the store to respect the price actually indicated on the product. Unfortunately, this did not happen. Another point that surprised me was the issue of the special packaging. The brand frequently advertises its packaging, positioning it as part of the premium shopping experience. However, it is not communicated in the advertisements that this packaging has an additional cost of €5. For a brand that seeks to position itself as premium, charging separately for simple wrapping, something that in many stores is part of the shopping experience, ends up conveying an image that is not aligned with that positioning. If the brand lacks the capacity to offer this detail to the customer, perhaps it would be more transparent not to promote this component of the experience so much. I ended up with an overall feeling of a lack of transparency and consistency in the customer experience, which is a shame for a brand that presents itself with such a high positioning.
