Sobre este lugar Saturdays Gran Canaria

Saturdays is listed as a gay and lesbian dance club at Calle Presidente Alvear 69 in Las Palmas, the island's capital, rather than in the Maspalomas resort area. The data on this page does not add up, though: the stored opening hours are daytime only (09:30 to 17:30) and the Google review count is far too high for a small club, so they probably belong to another business. Check the Instagram account (@saturdayslaspalmas) to see whether club nights are still running and when, before planning a night around it.

Brahim made our evening truly memorable. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always had a smile on his face. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, gave great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our meal. It’s rare to receive service that’s both professional and so personable. Thank you, Brahim, for making our experience so enjoyable—we can’t wait to come back!

We were originally booked in the Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote, but our trip was impacted by the terrible floods that impacted the hotel so our booking was changed to the Paradisus Gran Canaria Hotel. Before I go on I want to say that our heart always will be with the Paradisus in Lanzarote which we have visited 3 times previously. Being fans of the Paradisus brand we were really excited to see it in action somewhere else. I must say on the whole we were not disappointed. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. The attention we received in The Reserve during the day by the pool was exemplary, with regular offers to get drinks, and bringing round snacks and ice creams. The staff in the bars and restaurants work really hard and were always welcoming and cheerful with us. We stayed in a Premium Ocean View room which was a little smaller than the equivalents we have stayed in Paradisus Lanzarote, but it was a lovely room and spotlessly clean. The only gripe was the limited clothes hanging space, led to some double or triple hanging of clothes on top of each other. For us there were we just a few aspects of the hotel that didn’t work for us (although I fully understand they may not apply to everyone). The hotel is not adults only and caters for families, although The Reserve area is for adults only. For us the attraction of the Paradisus brand at the Lanzarote hotel was the feeling of tranquility and relaxation around the whole hotel (one of the reasons we joined the Circle Club). Unfortunately this hotel doesn’t achieve that because it obviously has to cater for families and there are few quiet areas particularly at night where you can escape the excitement and have a quiet drink. Unfortunately the food in the Gastro Hall buffet fell short of our expectations. Often the food was lukewarm and varieties were a little boring. The food in the other restaurants was always top notch. In fact, when faced with going to the buffet we were more happy having a Burger in the Vibra bar instead (which were great). Overall we had a lovely time and this is a brilliant hotel with a few minor quibbles. It wouldn’t be my first choice destination as not providing that Paradisus brand tranquility we love. But definitely a good backup for us.

We had an amazing dining experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to our waiter, Brahim. From the moment we arrived, he was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. He made sure we had everything we needed, offered excellent recommendations, and checked in at just the right times without ever being intrusive. His professionalism and positive attitude really stood out and made our meal even more enjoyable. Outstanding service from start to finish—Brahim is a real credit to the team. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic service, couldn’t ask for more. We sit down and our drinks are already coming to us at our table without even ordering! Knows our orders off by heart and nothing is to much to ask for! Brahim is brilliant!

Brahim made our holiday even more enjoyable with his outstanding service. He was always so attentive, friendly, and welcoming, making us feel genuinely looked after every evening. What really stood out was that he remembered our usual order each night, so we didn’t even have to ask—it was such a thoughtful personal touch that made us feel valued. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he always served us with a smile. Thank you, Brahim, for helping make our holiday so memorable. We hope to see you again!

We booked a British Airways holiday staying at this hotel for 11 nights from 11th to 22nd January. In our Premium Double Room there was a minibar which was replenished every day. There was also a safe, a television, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. It was well maintained, comfortable, clear and regularly serviced to a high standard. Room service was available with a €20 charge. Also, the Spa was operated by an independent Company so was chargeable There were three bars which we visited during our holiday. Ginger was the 24 hour Bar, Vibra was the late night one open from 19.00 to 01.00 and the shack open from 10.00 to 18.00. In the evenings there was usually entertainment, in either one of the Bars, food was also available at the bars during certain hours (all 3 reviewed separately) The main restaurant was Gastro Hall which was open daily, breakfast was served from 07.30am to 10.30, lunch was 13.00 to 15.30. The restaurant reopened at 18 30 to 21.30, all meals were buffet style. There were a number of themed restaurants which we were permitted to visit during our stay. These included Mascalzone, Kanna and Lemon Fish. Must say no matter where we ate our meals, the food was good quality and a good range of options. There were other dining and winery experiences available, there was an additional charge for these. We did visit the poolside bar, The Shack, a couple of times for lunch. It is open daily from 10.00am till 18.00 serving a variety of snacks, reviewed separately. There was a small Observatory which was open Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 20.00 where star gazing events took place, needed to book it. The Reserve, was an exclusive area with additional extras for guests. The pools were open from 10.00 to 18.00 there were towels provided. The Hotel is ideally situated to walk outside and explore the local area. Paseo Costa Canaria is roughly 5 kilometres of coastal pathway from San Agustín to Maspalomas Playa San Agustín was just across the Paseo from the Hotel, it was €9 to hire two sunbeds, reviewed separately. We did have a hire car, so we were out and about everyday, we were back in time to spend a few hours around the pool. In general it was an enjoyable holiday in modern spacious Hotel with good food. The hotel's best asset was it's staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. What we felt was the downside to the Hotel was the constant pressure to upgrade, even as we checked in, before we had even seen our room we were asked to upgrade. Even in some of the restaurants printed on the menu that we could have upgraded meals. On the first day we did receive a card from a holiday planner inviting us to a meeting. The next day we received a phone call chasing us up, we were told she was in Reception but would be leaving in 15 minutes. We agreed to go down and meet with her, where an appointment was made to meet up with one of her colleagues. The meeting turned out to be a hard sell of future holidays with the Hotel Group, basically another form of selling "Time Share" in another form. It all started very politely but the tone became a bit aggressive when we said we were not interested.

Paradisus Gran Canaria was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and caring. There was always someone checking in on you. While its a smaller resort than some larger ones in the Melia brand, I would definitely go there again. The amenities were first class. Hazel Marie in Gastro Hall was very attentive. She checked on our table every day we went for meals and remembered us and our needs. The hotel made us feel like Royalty. The rooms were cleaned daily, the meals were good. They helped arranged our hotel transfer. We had our son in the Kids Club and he enjoyed all the activities. Kudos to all the staff at this hotel. A++

Our stay at the Paradisus Gran Canaria unfortunately fell far short of our expectations for a 5-star hotel. First, I would like to highlight the rooms positively. These were modern, spacious, and met the standard one expects from a hotel of this category. The housekeeping was also excellent. The room was spotlessly clean every day and perfectly prepared upon every return. The location of the hotel is also quite successful. Unfortunately, the positive points end there. The service was disappointing overall and not worthy of a 5-star hotel. The staff seemed extremely inconsistent. On some days they were friendly, attentive, and accommodating, while on other days they were disinterested, inattentive, and barely present. It happened several times that we had to wait over ten minutes before we were even assigned a table, even though there was enough staff present. The restaurants were particularly disappointing. The quality of the food fluctuated so much that one had the impression that a completely different chef was in the kitchen every day. One day the food was really good, the next day it was barely edible. An example: We ordered a paella and waited about 40 minutes for it. (the restaurant was not crowded and there were enough waiters present) When it was finally served, it was cold and the shrimp were partly not even cooked through properly. Something like this simply must not happen in a 5-star resort. Even more serious, however, is that we both got stomach problems after eating various dishes. I myself spent several days with complaints, even though I ate exclusively at the hotel during the entire vacation. Of course, the exact cause cannot be proven with absolute certainty, but it still leaves an extremely bad impression and raises questions about food quality and hygiene. Furthermore, I would like to note that pigeons were constantly walking around on the plates in the Kanna Restaurant before the guests came to the table. I was so disgusted by this that I actually only wanted to sit inside from then on. It didn't bother any of the staff, unless there were 5 pigeons sitting on the leftover food, then someone would finally come and clear the leftovers away. Another point, which probably only affects the Reserve guests and which bothered us massively, was the so-called "Circle" system. After just a few days, several attempts were made to lure us to the reception with gifts. A small gift was promised to us as an incentive, without initially mentioning what it was actually about. Since we were traveling for an anniversary, we initially assumed that it was a small gesture from the hotel. At the reception, it then turned out that the announced gifts were merely a simple hand fan or a small, rather low-quality bag. In the actual conversation, we were then invited to an approximately ten-minute (according to other guests, up to an hour) presentation, during which the Circle or timeshare model was to be introduced to us. Looking back, I felt the prior announcement of a "gift" was purely a sales strategy, which left a very unpleasant aftertaste. After I realized immediately what it was about, I politely declined and even confirmed this again in a friendly manner via WhatsApp the next day. With that, the matter was settled for us. I would like to explicitly defend the employee himself: He accepted our decision immediately, was friendly at all times, and did not bring it up with us at all after that. It was all the more incomprehensible to us that on the day of our departure – about an hour before check-out and on the way to breakfast – we were to be invited again by another employee to a sales pitch. I found that extremely inappropriate and intrusive. Especially on the last day of vacation, one should not confront guests with sales attempts again. I find it completely inappropriate to bother guests – especially those who have booked high-priced rooms – with sales events during their vacation. Anyone who pays several thousand euros for a relaxing vacation wants to relax and not become the target of sales strategies. The promise of saving 20 to 40 percent on future stays is not very convincing when the quality offered was already so disappointing during the first stay. My conclusion: The Paradisus Gran Canaria has beautiful rooms and a good location. But the service, organization, and especially the quality of the food are significantly below the level one should expect from a 5-star hotel. For the price charged, the price-performance ratio is, in my view, not right at all. I would not book this hotel again and unfortunately cannot recommend it.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Paradisus Gran Canaria and, once again, the experience has been simply perfect. The hotel is spectacular, but what really makes it a unique place is its human team. We want to especially thank Juan Francisco and Sandro, who are the first people who greet you upon arriving at the hotel. Juan Francisco has spent a lifetime as part of Paradisus and conveys, from the very first greeting, the values of hospitality, warmth, and affection that make this place so special. He is an endearing, kind, and approachable person, one of those who leaves a mark and makes you feel at home from the very first minute. Sandro also deserves very special recognition. He always greets us with a sincere smile, extraordinary energy, and a kindness that he conveys from the very first moment. Over the years we have been lucky enough to get to know him better and he is always looking out for us and making sure everything goes well. He is one of those people who makes returning to the hotel like seeing a friend again. I also want to make a very special mention of Marta Vidal. Since our first stay, she has always made us feel incredibly welcome. Her warmth, her affection, her professionalism, and the attention with which she takes care of even the smallest detail make every visit even more special. Over the years we have been lucky enough to get to know her better and today we can say that, in addition to being a magnificent professional, she is an exceptional person. Furthermore, there is something that we believe says a lot about her: when a hotel has such an extraordinary team, with employees who are so professional, approachable, and committed in all departments, it is evident that behind it there is management that knows how to lead, motivate, and take care of people. We are convinced that a large part of that very special atmosphere also bears the mark of Marta and the way she understands hospitality. At the front desk, we especially want to thank Néstor, a person who is always looking out for us from the moment we arrive. His approachability, professionalism, and willingness to help at any moment make every stay even more special. Over the course of our visits, we have created a very close relationship with him, and it is a true pleasure to meet him again every time we return to the hotel. We also want to congratulate Elena, Marion, and Cristina, always kind, resourceful, and with a smile, making everything easy from the very first moment. In the restaurant, we especially want to congratulate José Robaina, a true example of professionalism. During our entire stay, we have not seen him stop for a single moment: always moving from one place to another, attentive to every detail, serving everyone with a smile, and making everything work perfectly. He is one of those people who seem to be everywhere at the same time. His dedication, work capacity, and attitude are admirable. We also want to highlight Ayoze and Ancor, two exceptional professionals who always welcome us with a smile, approachable, attentive, and with an extraordinary attitude. They are people who make every moment more pleasant and ensure that guests feel at home. We also want to thank the entire kitchen team, and make a special mention of Imanol and Washington. Their kindness, approachability, and professionalism make every meal even more special. Not only does the quality of the gastronomy stand out, but also the human treatment we receive every day. We do not want to forget the magnificent team of waiters. In particular, we want to mention Javi, Basilio, Rossi, and the rest of the dining room colleagues. Their professionalism, friendliness, speed, and constant attention are worthy of admiration. Always making sure that nothing is missing, always with a smile, and making every service an excellent experience. Our five-year-old son has enjoyed himself immensely thanks to the Kids Club and entertainment team: Patricia, Moha, Nerea, Antonio, Jesús, Irene, Raquel, and Estephan. They all treat the children with incredible affection, patience, and dedication. As parents, there is nothing more important than seeing your child happy, enjoying themselves, and looking forward to returning every day to be with you. We also want to give special thanks to Mario, who is in charge of the astronomy activity. Our son is passionate about planets and stars, and Mario has always paid very special attention to him. In addition, he had a lovely gesture with our family that we will always remember with great affection. The astronomy activity is an incredible experience and a huge added value for the hotel. A very special recognition also goes to the housekeepers, for their excellent work, their attention to detail, and for ensuring that the room is always perfect. Their kindness and their small gestures make the stay even more comfortable. And, finally, we want to highlight the gardening team. The hotel gardens are a true marvel and ma

I visited today, and what a disappointing surprise it was... that there was absolutely no possibility of a guided tour... despite being a group from an association. We had been informed beforehand, but I still have to say that I CAN'T BELIEVE that a place like this, so popular with locals and tourists alike, doesn't offer at least some guided tours on weekends! Furthermore, the included menu consisted of grilled chicken strips that were rather dry and served almost cold. I'm not just talking about "my personal taste"... several other diners commented on this. I hope this is constructive criticism for future visits. It's not enough that it's a spectacular place, which I've visited several times. I think "El Poema del Mar" could do better! Best regards 👋

One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. The aquariums made a huge impression. It's best to choose an unpopular time. At the very end, there's a large hall with a massive aquarium. Worth seeing.
