About the event

Is it enough to have an opinion to understand the current world? In times of rapid change, we need new tools to observe, question, and analyze.
The current world is moving at breakneck speed: consumption, languages, types of conflicts, and even sensitivities are changing. To understand it, and to intervene professionally in it, having an opinion is not enough: you need to observe better, listen carefully, ask precisely, and analyze with tools. The latter requires us to look more closely at the social interactions around us to objectify them and translate them into data. We are talking about interactions that can take place in the street, a house, a classroom, a public office, a neighborhood, a stadium, a work meeting, Instagram, or TikTok.
The course proposes a practical exploration of techniques and skills that are significant for social research. To this end, we combine qualitative and ethnographic tools that enable the production of relevant information on contemporary problems. In this context, our course is intended both for those who wish to apply these techniques to their own projects, ideas, or concerns; and for those who seek to strengthen their skills to guide, coordinate, or supervise work teams in tasks of data collection, monitoring, and analysis.
