About the event

How has Argentine environmental policy changed since the return of democracy? A review of its advances, resistances, and current challenges, and of the scenarios opening up for the future.
This course aims to review the institutional milestones from the return of democracy to the present, analyze the factors that explained the expansion of environmental policy until 2023, examine the official counter-discourse and its concrete effects through two recent cases of regulatory reform, and conclude by identifying where resistances persist and what scenarios are plausible going forward. The objective is not to take sides, but to provide analytical, historical, institutional, and comparative tools to analyze the current context.
General Objectives
*Reconstruct the institutional trajectory of Argentine environmental policy from 1983 to the present.
*Identify the factors that explained the expansion of environmental regulation until 2023.
*Analyze the official discourse and actions since 2023 and contrast it with evidence of its concrete effects.
*Recognize where resistances to this setback persist and what scenarios are plausible for the future.
Virtual modality
Paid activity.
