Parque General San Martín (Gay Cruising Area)

Parque General San Martín, the vast park on the western edge of the city, is Mendoza's best-known outdoor gay cruising ground. The activity is long-standing and concentrates after dark along the wooded paths and quieter corners away from the main lake and rose garden, mostly on warm evenings. By day it is simply the city's great public park — gardens, monuments, the hilltop Cerro de la Gloria and rowing club — so ordinary discretion applies once the light fades. Argentina is one of the most LGBTQ-friendly countries in Latin America and police rarely trouble consensual encounters, but standard nighttime caution in an unlit park still makes sense: keep to areas you can read, keep valuables out of sight, and trust your instincts.
