I went on Tuesday, May 12th, to celebrate my birthday at the karaoke bar with my twin sister and friends. We made a reservation in advance, and they sent us some instructions. We got the complimentary Tuesday drink for the shotgun and arrived around 7:30 PM.
The place opens at 7 PM, but there was nothing happening inside the bar when we went to get our wristbands. We asked about the karaoke, and the owner at the reception informed us that the karaoke only started after 8:30 PM.
Why didn't they inform us at the time of the reservation? We stood outside, near the door, wondering what to do, since the place wasn't offering any entertainment at that time.
Then, the owner was extremely rude for no reason and said that we couldn't stay outside with the wristband, even though there was a smoking area in a fenced-off area that was part of the place, and that if we consumed food and drinks at another establishment, they would take the wristband away. (Were they going to chase and watch us outside the premises?)
There was nothing happening inside the bar, no karaoke, no party in the basement, absolutely nothing, and we were forced to remain inside, with the owner threatening to take off our wristbands.
We explained that we had contacted them in advance, that there was no information about the start of activities, that we had chosen the place to celebrate our birthday, that we would have guests, that we would consume on site, but the owner/manager continued to act disrespectfully and rudely, rudely stating that those were the rules, acting with mockery and ignorance, turning her back without listening to us.
I don't understand the rude way in which the manager of a place that should be inclusive, diverse, and welcoming to the LGBTQIA+ community, the largest audience of this bar, which was one of the reasons why we also chose to celebrate our birthday, chooses to mistreat people, consumers, who want to have a fun night, in such a harsh and underhanded way.
The night wasn't completely ruined by this unfortunate reception only because the waitress who served us was extremely kind, good-humored, and helpful, and because Vanilla Jezz is sensational at running the karaoke!
But honestly, I won't be going back to this place anytime soon.
SUMMARY: The place opens at 7 pm, but there's nothing going on at that time, just a rude and impolite person giving a bad welcome. On Tuesdays, the karaoke only starts after 8:30 pm and the party in the basement only after 9 pm. The food, drinks, and beers are very expensive, but I suggest consuming them elsewhere and arriving a little before 9 pm. Don't get your wristband before then, because the owner will mistreat you and threaten you.
