Gay Bars & Clubs in Florianópolis
Florianópolis, or "Floripa," is famous for its beaches, but it also has a surprisingly robust LGBTQ+ nightlife that draws visitors from across Brazil and abroad. The scene is compact and seasonal — busiest in the summer (December–February) — but its bars and clubs are a genuine highlight: relaxed and welcoming, just like the island itself. Where to Go: Floripa's LGBTQ+ Nightlife
Most of Florianópolis's gay bars and clubs are downtown in Centro, clustered around Avenida Rio Branco and Alameda Adolfo Konder. This makes bar-hopping easy — you can take in several venues in a single night on foot. Beyond Centro you'll find beach parties and seasonal events around the island (Bar do Deca out at Praia Mole is the daytime beach anchor), but for dedicated gay venues open year-round, Centro is the place to be.

Conca Club
Conca Club, on Avenida Rio Branco in Centro, is one of the island's most popular LGBTQ+ clubs. It's known for a great sound system, a lively dance floor and weekend parties that pull a big, mixed queer crowd. If you only have one night out in Floripa, this is a reliable choice for dancing into the early hours.
SELVA
SELVA is a central Floripa club with a busy calendar of queer party nights — from themed "SELVA SET" parties to lesbian-focused and pop nights. Energetic, music-driven and welcoming, it's a favourite for a full night on the dance floor.
OPIUM
OPIUM is another strong option for LGBTQ+ nightlife in Centro. Known for its energetic atmosphere, themed nights and quality lighting and sound, it draws a crowd that loves everything from electronic dance music to current chart-toppers. Modern, spirited and fun.
UNDR
UNDR, on Alameda Adolfo Konder, brings an underground, warehouse-style feel to the Centro scene, with late-night electronic parties and a mixed queer crowd. Head here if you want a grittier, dance-focused night out.
Pink Pub
Pink Pub, in Centro, is a welcoming, community-minded spot — a good place to start your night or simply unwind. The music runs from pop to electronic, the staff are friendly and the crowd is social. A classic, genuinely welcoming Floripa gay bar where everyone feels at home.
153 Club & JIVAGO
Two more Centro nightlife options round out the cluster: 153 Club, an intimate LGBTQ+ bar and club, and JIVAGO, a lively party venue. Both are within easy reach of the main strip, so it's simple to fold them into a bar-hopping night.
Sapateco Bar & Cultura
Sapateco Bar & Cultura is a rare and valued space centered on the lesbian, sapatão and trans community. Beyond drinks, it programmes parties, live shows and cultural events, and has built a loyal following as one of the few explicitly queer-women-centered venues in the city.
Best Nights, Vibe, and What to Expect
Thursday through Saturday are the best nights out, with Friday and Saturday bringing the biggest crowds, guest DJs and special events. Programming is seasonal and shifts often, so it's worth checking each venue's Instagram before you head out.
The vibe varies by venue. Pink Pub and 153 Club are more relaxed, social bar settings, good for talking and meeting people, while Conca Club, SELVA, OPIUM and UNDR lean toward loud music and packed dance floors. Expect a friendly, open atmosphere throughout — Floripa's LGBTQ+ community is warm and easygoing. Getting There
Most venues are in Centro, so taxis and ride-hailing apps (Uber and 99) are the easiest and safest way to get around at night. Public buses run during the day but thin out late. If you're staying in Centro, many venues are walkable, making bar-hopping easy.
Dress Code
Florianópolis keeps things relaxed, fitting its beach-city feel. Smart casual works almost everywhere; for the bigger clubs you might dress up a little, but strict dress codes are rare. Comfort matters, especially if you plan to dance.
Ages
The legal drinking age in Brazil is 18. Venues check ID, so carry a passport or certified copy. Crowds are 18+ with a good mix of ages, especially in the more established bars.
Safety
Florianópolis is generally safe, but take normal urban precautions: stick to well-lit areas when walking between venues, watch your belongings, and don't flash cash or expensive electronics. Confirm driver and vehicle details when using ride-hailing apps, and drink responsibly.
