About this place Bandeira Bandeira

Bandeira Bandeira is a bar and party space in Barra Funda built around São Paulo's lesbian, bi and trans women's scene — one of the few fixed venues in the city aimed squarely at queer women rather than the mixed or men's crowd that dominates elsewhere. Expect DJs, karaoke and themed nights, with a warm, come-as-you-are feel. It sits in the warehouse-club belt of Barra Funda, within reach of the big weekend dancefloors, and has become a dependable meeting point for women and non-binary people. Weekends are busiest; follow its social channels for the events calendar.

Very cozy place. As a lesbian woman, I felt at home.

I was at the bar during the first round of elections. They had announced on Instagram that they would have double Cariri drinks for R$20. When I arrived, I went to the cashier and bought a double (the attendant even asked me if I wanted two small glasses or just one large glass, and I replied that I wanted one large glass). The first surprise came with the price; they charged me R$22 (which would be comical if it weren't tragic, given the political climate we're experiencing). Then, the second surprise: the house honey simply ran out, and all the Cariri drinks would be made with molasses (this, for me, isn't a problem, but it shows how unprepared they are). Finally, the bartender made only ONE drink, which, when poured into the small glass, only filled HALF of it. She only made another drink when I said, "Wait, isn't it a double???" and even then, she made it in another small glass with even LESS QUANTITY, less than half. It was even possible to combine the drinks in one small glass. In short, if you're not prepared for events/moments like this, it's best not to create promotions or advertise things on social media. If you go to any kind of event there, I recommend buying drinks at the more traditional bars and staying outside.

It used to be my favorite bar, but it's unacceptable to frequent a place and be mistreated repeatedly by different employees. I've given it several chances because I really liked the atmosphere, but the service consistently leaves much to be desired. On my last visit, although the table staff were more attentive and welcoming than before, one of the blonde bartenders simply pushed me aside instead of just asking to be excused. A total lack of respect and professionalism towards the customer.

Mercy, what a lousy place! The waitresses treat everyone like garbage, and I'd rather not comment on their appearance. The drinks look like they're made of urine; at least the so-called "mango baby" had the color and taste of vegetable washing water. Run away!
