Bar Queen

Bar Queen is a gay bar on Rua Vitória in central São Paulo, in the República and Santa Ifigênia area that was the traditional heart of the city's gay scene. It is a plain, local bar rather than a polished club. Drinks are cheap, the crowd is mixed-age, many are regulars, and it has a long-running neighbourhood feel. It is a different night out from the Rua Frei Caneca and Jardins bars. Late at night, take normal central-city precautions: keep your phone out of sight on the street and use app-based taxis rather than walking long distances.
