About this place Bunker Club

Bunker Club opened its doors on Bombero Nuñez in 1995 and has spent three decades earning its status as the non-negotiable institution of Santiago's gay nightlife. The name reflects its original aesthetic — a fortress-like space designed to hold a large crowd — but what has made Bunker endure is not architecture but culture: a consistent programming of high-energy electronic music, drag performance, and a crowd that spans the full breadth of Santiago's LGBTQ+ community from students to professionals, from regulars who remember the 1990s to visitors arriving for the first time. Bellavista is Santiago's historic bohemian barrio, a neighbourhood of bars, galleries, and restaurants beneath the San Cristóbal hill, and Bombero Nuñez is its gay axis. Bunker sits at the apex of this axis. The club runs across multiple floors and spaces; the main dance floor reaches its full intensity in the early morning hours of Saturday and Sunday. Drag shows are a regular programming fixture and some of Chile's most prominent drag performers have built their reputations at Bunker. For any visitor to Santiago, a night at Bunker is not optional — it is the most direct point of entry into the city's gay social world, the place where the breadth and energy of the community becomes most visible. Pre-drinks in Bellavista, then Bunker from midnight: this is the Santiago template.

We loved the place, Lu's service was spectacular, the food was delicious, and the signature cocktails were amazing. 100% recommended. When we come back, we'll definitely be dancing.

I don't recommend this place if you're visiting Santiago. It has a really strange energy; people constantly approach you, trying to touch you and offer you drugs, and the more you say no, the more they come. Plus, it's extremely expensive: 30,000 pesos for two people and 40,000 pesos by card just to get into a tiny place with a smoking area that's really just a storage room. The space is cramped and uncomfortable. I'm from Concepción and had high expectations for this place.
