About this place Hotel Cumbres Lastarria

Hotel Cumbres Lastarria occupies an ideal position in Santiago's cultural geography: Barrio Lastarria is the city's most refined neighbourhood, a compact area of tree-lined streets, independent bookshops, design restaurants, wine bars, and the city's best street cafés, immediately adjacent to the Parque Forestal, the Bellas Artes museum, and the Santa Lucía hill — one of Santiago's great urban viewpoints. The hotel is boutique in scale and sophisticated in design, with a rooftop pool and terrace that provides one of the city's better views of the Andes range on a clear day. The gay-friendly character of the property is real rather than nominal: Lastarria is among Santiago's most liberal and artistically oriented barrios, and the hotel reflects the culture of its neighbourhood. Bellavista and Bunker Club are a short taxi or app ride away. The hotel is a reliable answer to the question of where to stay in Santiago for visitors who want proximity to the city's cultural and gastronomic best without necessarily being based in Bellavista itself. The Andes backdrop — visible on clear mornings from the upper floors — is one of Santiago's great distinguishing features, and Cumbres Lastarria makes the most of it.

One of the best hotels our group had stayed during our 1 month holiday in South America. Spacious and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good location. Tea and cofee available in the rooms and in the spacious common room.

On June 17th, I went to eat at Punto 8 restaurant. The food was truly exquisite. The set menu included a very tasty shrimp appetizer, followed by gnocchi with an eggplant sauce. I highly recommend it; it's not heavy at all, perfect for people looking for something different. The waiters should demonstrate how to clear a plate when it's to the right or left; that's very important.

This is a Rolls Royce of a hotel. Beautiful decor. Highly efficient and helpful staff. Food was of a very good standard. Only slight issue was bar area closing on weekend . Due to the fact that this barrio becomes a bit unsafe after dark I didn’t feel forcing guests to leave the hotel for a drink at night was a great idea . However to experience the culture and vibe of Santiago I don’t think anywhere could be better.
