A foreigners review: Labelled as a gay club, it feels more like a straight club with a gay pop room. With I think 5 dance floors in total the venue is huge and the decor feels lux, however most other stages are playing Latin music which is filled with straight people and the gay “pop” room is the only gay feeling area that still feels like it’s not quite the vibe you’re after. The drag shows do at least make up for it a little. We arrived at 11:30 pm on a Friday and you pay 30 soles to get in which includes a pre mixed cocktail/beer, security is thorough but the process is pretty efficient and there’s a lot of cashiers to pay for entry. It was busy at some stages but the venue was still “empty” at this time. I would say if you’re curious check it out but don’t expect to stay long or be wow’d.
It used to be a regular spot, but these last two years it's lost its charm, at least in my opinion. The music in the general admission area is the same as it was years ago, and they play the same thing every night. The other area of La Tiendita used to be a good option because they played all kinds of music, but they changed DJs, and if you want to listen to chicha and cumbia all night, well, that's for you, and the rest of the areas are just TikTok zones. On another note, and just as importantly, they used to give you a drink that they made fresh for you, but now it comes in buckets, and the other options... well, you can't judge complimentary drinks, but at least they didn't come in buckets.
