About this place Hotel PALMETTO

Hotel Palmetto is a mainstream mid-range hotel on Avenida San Borja Sur in Lima's San Borja district, listed as gay-friendly rather than a gay hotel. It is well reviewed (4.3 from almost 1,000 Google ratings) and mostly serves business travellers and families. San Borja is a quiet, middle-class residential area with parks, near the Museo de la Nación and Lima's Gran Teatro Nacional. It is not where the nightlife is. Miraflores and Barranco, home to most of Lima's gay bars and clubs, are 15 to 30 minutes away by taxi depending on traffic, which in Lima can be heavy. Use Uber or Cabify at night.

Terrible service, dirty rooms, and deplorable reception staff. I was charged an unjustified tax that wasn't mentioned from day one. No one helped us with our luggage upon arrival or departure. The breakfast was cold and tasteless, and I asked for a glass of milk, which took an hour to arrive. Room service was nonexistent; I asked for water, and it never came. Advice: Customer service is free, and as foreigners, we left with a VERY BAD impression of the place.

Good location, clean and comfortable room, good coffee, but with little variety. Very weak Wi-Fi in the room.
