Caracas Pride
About This Event
The Marcha del Orgullo LGBTIQ+ de Caracas is Venezuela's main Pride march, organised by a coalition of NGOs, and it has been held every year since 2001 (Wikipedia). The first marches set off from Plaza Brión in Chacaíto along the Sabana Grande boulevard. In recent years the route has run from Parque Miranda in Sucre municipality along Avenida Francisco de Miranda to Plaza Venezuela, ending with a concert, with NGOs offering free HIV and syphilis tests along the way.
The march's demands haven't changed: Venezuela still has no same-sex marriage or civil union, trans people can't legally change their name or gender, and gay men can't give blood. The 2025 march was on Saturday 28 June 2025, and EU diplomats, including Spain's ambassador, walked with it (El Diario). In 2024 it was on 7 July.
2026 is unclear. The earthquakes of 24 June 2026 hit La Guaira and Caracas days before the usual date, and we found no news report of a June march. QList lists a solidarity march, the "Orgullotón", on Saturday 31 October 2026, collecting food, hygiene products, medicines and toys for families affected by the earthquakes, but we couldn't confirm the time, route or organisers. No 2027 date has been announced. Follow @OrgulloLGBTIVE for updates, and check your government's travel advice before you go.
