Great food and menu. Friendly staff

The food totally deserves 4.8. But the service and the portion is pathetic. Me and my friend we arrived at around 5:50ish and we basically seated ourselves. It took about 20 minutes till we get the menu. Then we waited for 30 minutes till someone asked us if we were being helped. During the wait, me and my friend were staring at the server and I am one hundred percent sure she noticed my stare at least twice but she decided to ignore me. I don’t wanna go dark but if my white friend sit outside of the seat, she would probably notice us? Then during someone ordering for us, the server asked my friend if she wanted any free fries for the long wait and I was the one being ignored, again. During the whole time we were eating, no one stopped by asking how we were doing or refill water. Then after we finish, someone finally stopped by and asked if everything is okay. I’ll take that as ‘you need to leave’ sign. So we asked for the bill, the nice server thanked my friend for the payment but totally didn’t care about asking if I need a receipt or saying thank you. I don’t want to make this sound bad but it is what it is. I spent 24 dollars before tax on a shareable plate and all I got was one sausage, a half plate of fries with some sauce. And total ignorance. Only deserved 1 star but I’m too nice.

One of those neighbourhood gems. Love Otto for the food and the atmosphere. Cutest little garden patio as well.

The Otto sausage and smoked mac and cheese were show stoppers. Not sure the price per sausage was worth it if dining alone. Thankfully we shared everything so we at least got to try most things. If it wasn't for extra sides you wouldn't feel full. I appreciate family style dinning. However we did asked for one portion to be separate for personal reasons and it still came out on the same tray.

Otto is a hidden gem in YEG & if you know, you KNOW. Excellent food, service & prices. The vibes are fantastic & it’s truly such a special place to go to.

One of Edmontons best hidden gems

Was at lunch.. Three folks, 3 mediocre sandwiches with a few chips, 1 glass of wine for 1 person... 65 $!!!!! Not worth it

This place was great. Every so often Tess and Nat host an excellent trivia night that’s super engaged with other tables and a lot of fun. The food selection is pretty vast given its Dutch/German cuisine. The mac & cheese and spicy fries are a must! Our server Eden was also super attentive and kind. Everyone on staff there is really pleasant and the food is fantastic. Definitely coming back whenever I’m in Edmonton!

As much as I wanted to give them 5 stars because we dont have much going for the neighborhood and love the vibe.. i just couldn't. Both times I went to this restaurant I felt ignored by my server. Literally as soon as I tipped she turned mid conversation to talk to a coworker and didnt even acknowledge me awkardly leaving.. The bartender was great I wish I could remember her name, I think shes got a talent for recognizing a good drink and how to fufill its potential. I dont think ill be returning as I was realy hoping this would be its redemption for me. Liked the spiced fries and loved the fish but the pulled pork needs a new bun choice as its just too crumbly. When it comes down to it ive never felt offended by a waitress until today. Hopefully they can use this as constructive criticism.
