Fierte de Quebec
About This Event
Fierté de Québec is Quebec City's Pride, held every year on the Labour Day weekend at the start of September. It began around 2005 as the Fête Arc-en-ciel and took its current name for its 20th anniversary in 2024. It is organised by the Alliance Arc-en-ciel de Québec.
It's a smaller, mostly free and French-speaking Pride, centred on Place D'Youville and rue Saint-Jean. Expect outdoor shows, drag (in 2026 including Glamoustache, the festival's first drag king night), a karaoke evening, talks and support activities, and the solidarity march, which leaves Place D'Youville on the Sunday afternoon. Radio-Canada describes the turnout as hundreds of people each year; we found no official count.
The 2026 edition ran 4 to 6 September, with the march on Sunday 6 September at 1pm. Organisers told Radio-Canada they work with city police on security and deal with online hate daily, but no incident has directly harmed participants in Quebec City. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked; it should again fall on Labour Day weekend.
