What reviewers say

Visitors consistently praise the Stone Hall Castle for its authentic medieval feel, knowledgeable and passionate owner/guide, and impressive collection of artifacts and furnishings. However, some note that the interior is quite dark, making photography difficult, and one reviewer mentioned the furnishings are not from the house's original era.

An absolutely amazing place! Without a doubt, one of the best places to visit in Regina. Please support this project and visit this place! This castle does not receive government funding—everything is paid for by the owner himself to keep it clean, well-maintained, and preserved in its original condition. I truly believe this place should be featured in local news and included in every city guide and travel publication. The owner actually lives here, as it is his home, but it also operates as a hotel and is a historic and architectural landmark with deep roots in Canadian history. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about the property. Every room and every object in the house is filled with history, and his storytelling brings it all to life. He speaks passionately, clearly knows what he’s talking about, and makes the entire experience fascinating from start to finish. It’s genuinely impressive to see such a unique piece of history preserved privately and cared for with so much dedication.

Stone Hall castle was such a fun explore, I would highly recommend for anyone traveling to Regina area, book a tour! The tour takes a little over an hour and from the moment you walk through the door, you smell beeswax candles burning throughout the castle. The owner gives the tour and you can feel the pride he has in this unusual and unique piece of history your experiencing. The tour begins in the foyer, on the stone steps, surrounded by antique oil paintings. The history of Regina and the original owner's family are a unique part of Regina's history and lend more understanding as to why the castle exists. Each room is historically decorated and honestly feels like a step back in time. From drippy beeswax candles, to the pewter cups and plates in the master's chambers and troll doors connecting the entire castle via minature passageways, the place just exudes authenticity. The rooms are available to rent overnight or for special occasions. Check out this unique piece of Regina's history!

My best friend discovered that Regina, Saskatchewan has an authentic castle within the city, and we knew where our next holiday was going to be! We booked a May Long Weekend trip to Regina specifically for a tour of The Stone Hall Castle. We scheduled the tour for Sunday afternoon and it did not disappoint. The outside of the building almost blends into the surrounding architecture of that area of the city. If you aren't paying attention you might just think it's an old large stone home, unaware of the treasures hiding inside! Once the owner opens the front door to welcome you in - it's as if you've transported back in time to a castle straight out of out of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Excalibur or Game of Thrones!!! The interior is jaw dropping to say the least! The tour is informative, interactive and worth every penny! We had the luxury of being able to visit all the rooms during the tour as there were no guests staying there the day we visited. Stone Hall Castle is also a VERY unique hotel, that offers tours, and events to be booked (like weddings). If you are looking for something unique and affordable to do take a trip to Regina and visit Stone Hall Castle. You won't regret it!

Jason gave a phenomenal tour of his beautifully renovated medieval castle home. The amount of historical knowledge he provided, which also included information on many common sayings today about thresholds, honeymoons and more were provided. The art work, stonework and time period furniture really completed the experience. -Your friends from Kansas City

What an amazing experience!! A definite must see. We did the evening candlelight tour, but a daylight tour would definitely highlight different things. An overnight stay would be a dream come true! The castle and the decor was impressive, but the owner truly made the experience a special one. He was a wealth of knowledge and information, and had a good sense of humor. Get a homemade candle as a souvenir, they smell amazing.
