No improvements necessary sexy wonderful place. Soooooo gay so friendly and sexy 3ceryone in tge building.
Excellent atmosphere & performers! We had a great time in this safe space. Just be aware it was a cash only bar & cash cover!
The most fun you can have if you are gay in the village (with your clothes on 😉) and the BEST music. Also come for the best night of all
This was probably a fun spot pre-COVID, but we were a group of seven that went last night and I probably won’t be back. $10 cover and $45 for a pitcher of sangria. Cash only. Mandatory 20% tip and a requirement to settle your bill with every drink purchase. Entry and a round of drinks was $240! With a two hour sitting limit (though the place was empty). The vibe was dull (though the Queens did their absolute best to hype up the tiny crowd). It just all felt forced and NOT worth it. The waitress was almost impossible to find and failed to share all the specials which resulted in us being over charged For shots. Then they said they would move us to the street because they needed the table for the next group. When we were ready to move, they didn’t have a space for us on the street. So we went somewhere else. I get that places need to charge more to re-coup losses, but I need to see some value for my investment and this just felt like a huge cash grab. Not remotely comparable to any place we’ve visited post-COVID and in my opinion, not worth it.
First time visiting and found the environment friendly, and the entertainment was fabulous. Drinks were reasonably priced. All staff were helpful and professional. Thank you!
A very busy popular bar in the centre of the village. Saturday night was very busy with a long queue outside for entry. IDs were randomly checked. Inside was pretty wedged but you could find a corner to people watch and enjoy the show. Staff were friendly and did well to keep the drinks flowing.
I usually go to Crews and tangos every Saturday for the drag show. Last night something so weird happened to me. I was making out with a guy and this blonde bartender tapped on my shoulder and said “get the fu*k out of here, you’re straight at a gay bar” She was very aggressive. I was like chill I want to order beer. She refused to serve me any alcohol even tho she was serving everybody else. Then she called security for us to kick us out. We explained what she said and the bouncers were pretty understanding. I still can’t believe how rude she is tho. She has issues for sure. Very hateful In a supposedly loving and accepting place.
It is a really cool bar on the Church street. Ground floor is taken by Drag Queens. Lots of dancing on the second floor. Really mixed and fun crowd all over.
I am absolutely astonished to read so many negative reviews about Crews & Tangos on here-- my friends and I went here last week during our Spring Break in Toronto, and we had a blast! The drag queens were extremely entertaining (i.e. excellent dancers, told hilarious jokes, interacted with the crowd, etc.), the bar staff were extremely friendly (the guy at the bar knew my drink order by the end of the night), and, contrary to what many people have said on here, my friends and I had no issues with the security guards on duty whatsoever-- all they really did were check people's bags, which I personally don't have a problem with. Also, everyone who my friends and I met in here was super friendly and welcoming! In short, our visit to Crews & Tangos was probably our favorite thing we did while in Toronto, and we would gladly go back!
Arrived just after they opened. Very unfriendly. I believe all the negative reviews about their security people. And, the place is very dingy and smells awful. Decided to stick it out a bit longer and glad we did. The drag queens were tops. Funny, engaging and very talented performers. This place is a pit but the drag queens, the real reason to visit the place, were terrific. Unfortunately, just before 11:00, many more “patrons” arrived. Too many drunk/stoned weirdos, so had to leave.
