Numbers Cabaret at 1042 Davie Street has been part of the Davie Village since 1983, making it one of the oldest continuously operating LGBTQ+ entertainment venues in Vancouver. The cabaret format — entertainment programming as the central focus, with bar service built around the shows — distinguishes Numbers from the pure nightclub format of Celebrities and the pub format of the Fountainhead and Pumpjack. The drag programming is the heart of the venue's offering: regular shows featuring local and visiting drag performers in a setting where the production values and the intimacy of the cabaret format allow for a quality of performance that larger clubs cannot replicate. Numbers has been a launching pad for Vancouver drag performers for four decades; the institutional knowledge of what a good cabaret show looks like is embedded in its operation. Every time I come back to Vancouver, I make sure to visit numbers. It is a great night out and the staff are incredible (I think my bartender on multiple occasions was named Vincent and he's really extraordinary!!) and I always feel well looked after. Highly recommend this night club to anyone looking for a good night out!! See you next time Numbers!
