About this place Celebrities Nightclub

Celebrities Nightclub has been the central gay nightclub of Vancouver's Davie Street Village for decades — the venue that defines gay nightlife in the city and where the community converges on weekend nights for DJ sets, drag performances, and the full programme of gay club events. The club occupies a substantial space on Davie Street with a main dance floor, multiple bar areas, and a production quality that reflects Vancouver's position as a sophisticated city with a demanding club audience. The resident and guest DJ programming covers house, electronic, and pop in the format that gay clubs have refined over decades; the drag entertainment is a regular feature of the weekly schedule. Celebrities operates at the scale of a genuine nightclub rather than a bar — the focus is the dance floor and the music — and for visitors seeking the most intense gay nightlife experience that Vancouver offers, it is the unambiguous first choice. During Vancouver Pride week in August, Celebrities is one of the primary venues for official and unofficial Pride parties, running special events across the full week.

One of the bouncers at Celebrities, Omer (short Indian man with a beard) is unprofessional and his behaviors made me feel uncomfortable and creeped out. I know of him through a different venue that he also works at where I've seen him a few times - so I'd sometimes briefly say hi to him as I'd walk by Celebrities if I saw him on shift. Recently, he followed me into Numbers Cabaret after his shift at Celebrities, knowing I was going to be there, as I had a quick chat with him during his shift at Celebrities a few minutes earlier. After following me there, he said Celebrities closed early that night. When I left the venue, he was standing still on the sidewalk and when I walked by he asked me if I was done for the night. At the other venue that he works at, I later asked him what prompted him to go to Numbers that night - he said he is straight, claimed he didn't know Numbers is a gay club, and that supposedly one of his friends who works there encouraged him to check it out. He also once went in for a hug during his shift at Celebrities when I was just trying to give him a quick fist bump. Besides this bouncer following me at another venue after his shift -a venue that is meant to serve the LGBTQ+ community that he isn't even a member of- I also find that Celebrities tends to be overcrowded and has a lack of space to sit without having to reserve a table.

Bouncers were rude and kicked us out of line for "cutting"' even though we were meeting friends, but allowed groups of 7+ to cut in line - very disappointed do yo job better

Went there for the first time, and they're trying to scam people. They automatically add a 15% tip and then still ask you for a tip. Do you know how much money they are making off intoxicated people? They only have 1-2 signs that show it and many of them they hide behind the bottles so you can't see the sign. Absolutely despicable. Never in my life have I seen a club add auto gratuity to make 1 drink. That's usually applied to large groups that you are actually servicing. Like bottle service. Not a bartender making 1 drink. 0/10 do not recommend.

Worst nightclub ever. I got kicked out by one of their security stuff right at the entrance for complaining about the way he grabbed me. All this after I had paid for my cover, but I never went inside of the club and they refused to reimburse me. The bouncers outside laughed and said they couldn't do anything.

My friend waited for an hour, got bushed Infront of and not let in. The bouncer were aware and did noting to help, not a good club.
