About this place qmunity

qmunity is Vancouver's primary LGBTQ+ community resource centre, located at 1170 Bute Street in the West End neighbourhood — one block from the Davie Street Village, at the centre of the geographic community it serves. The organisation offers a comprehensive range of services: one-on-one counselling with LGBTQ+-affirming counsellors, support groups for LGBTQ+ youth, seniors, and people navigating specific life challenges, health and sexual health programming, and community drop-in space available to LGBTQ+ people across the city and region. qmunity has particular strengths in youth programming — the West End's proximity to the downtown core and several post-secondary institutions means that LGBTQ+ young people from across the city access qmunity's services — and in senior support, reflecting the aging of the community that built the West End's gay neighbourhood over decades. The organisation is also an important point of contact for LGBTQ+ newcomers to Vancouver, whether recent immigrants or domestic migrants, who need information about community resources, services, and social connection. During Vancouver Pride, qmunity is a hub of community programming and information.
