November 3rd: Character Lab: Original Characters, Original Worlds

Every great character comes from somewhere. In this hands-on workshop, we'll build original characters from the inside out — using prompt cards, short writing exercises, and a lot of curiosity — while exploring how the worlds our characters live in shape who they become. Whether you already have an OC you love or you're starting from scratch, you'll leave with new tools for making characters feel real, rounded, and unmistakably yours.

November 4th: Character Lab: OCs, Fandoms, and AUs

What happens when you take a character you love—your own OC or one from a book, show, movie, or game—and drop them into a completely different world? Coffee shop AU? Regency? Post-apocalypse? In this workshop we'll play with fanfiction and alternate universes to explore how much of a character is world and how much is core—and how to write AUs that still feel like the character you love. We'll discuss how to build characters that are your own, but still fit seamlessly into canon worlds with already established characters.
