About This Event

Cuba Rainbow Pride 2026 isn't just a party. It's a marker. The country legalized same-sex marriage and adoption in 2022. That's a huge shift for a place that once persecuted queer people. Havana’s Pride now mixes Cuban revolutionary history, Afro-Caribbean culture, and a new kind of queer visibility. CENESEX and local activists put it all together.

You'll see a “Conga against Homophobia and Transphobia” parade. It winds through central Havana, people dancing to drums, rumba, and reggaeton. There are drag and transformista shows, talks about LGBTQ+ rights in Latin America, art, and film screenings at Cine Yara. Parties pop up in private paladares and beach clubs along Playas del Este.

Havana itself hits you. Habana Vieja, a UNESCO site, is beautiful even as it crumbles. Lovers gather on the Malecón at sunset. Classic cars, bright as candy, roll past Capitolio. Music spills from every doorway. Vedado has places like Hotel Nacional and Fábrica de Arte Cubano, a serious cultural hub.

A tourist card, not a visa, is usually what you need. Bring Euros or Canadian dollars; US cards mostly don't work. Get Nauta cards for internet at hotspots, but download maps and translations before you go. Casas particulares give you a real sense of the place. Keep small bills for taxis and tips.

For queer travelers, this isn’t just another Pride. It's a chance to see liberation happen in a country that feels utterly unique. Warm Caribbean air, revolutionary history, great music, and a growing LGBTQ+ movement—it’s a celebration, yes, but it’s history too.
