Parque Huentitán / Barranca

The wooded edges of Parque Huentitán and the rim of the Barranca de Huentitán, on Guadalajara's northern edge, are among the city's longest-standing outdoor gay cruising areas and are listed in local gay guides. Activity is discreet, word-of-mouth, and mostly in daylight and early evening. The ravine terrain is isolated and robberies are a real risk. Go in daylight, not alone, and carry little of value. Same-sex marriage is legal across Mexico and Guadalajara is broadly tolerant, but public-decency rules still apply. For meeting people, the bars and streets around Avenida Chapultepec and the Centro are far safer.
