About this place Barbarella Austin

Barbarella is a dance club at 611 Red River Street in Austin's Red River Cultural District. It is a mainstream club rather than a gay bar, but its Tuesday party, Tuesgayz, has run for years and brings a large LGBTQ+ crowd with DJs and drag. Other nights rotate through retro and themed parties, so the crowd changes with the calendar. It rates 4.1 on Google from about 1,500 reviews. Red River has several queer-leaning bars within a short walk, so it is easy to start elsewhere and end up here. Check the club's social media for the current week's line-up, since theme nights change.

God the people that work here are so pretentious, no wonder they have automatic gratuity on every card transaction.

This place is great they play good music and the vibes in general are amazing. Really wish that they would replace the plastic water cups with paper ones though. It feels so wasteful to take one drink and then throw the cup away

Appeals to the clubhoppers but alsp has that retro cool, its so inspiring to have nightlife created by someone on the spectrum and over-and -now below-the other slope-of-the-hill arranger. I applaud fhe owner and manager for harnessing his specialness to create a trendy pitstop for people in Austin!
