About this place Oilcan Harry's

Oilcan Harry's has been on West 4th Street in downtown Austin since 1979, which makes it one of the longest-running gay bars in Texas. It is a dedicated gay bar with a dance floor and DJs inside and a large patio that does a lot of the work on warm evenings. The crowd is mostly gay men, with a mix of regulars and visitors. It opens at 16:00 on weekdays and 14:00 at weekends, with last call at 02:00. Prices are mid-range for downtown. Weekend nights are the busiest, when the whole 4th Street block of gay bars fills up and people move between them.
