LGBTQ+ Western (Western Washington University)

LGBTQ+ Western is the LGBTQ+ resource office at Western Washington University, the university at the heart of Bellingham's progressive, queer-friendly character. It was formed when the university's former Queer Resource Center and Gender Liberation Center merged in 2022, and it now serves as the central hub for LGBTQ+ students on campus. The office offers community space, peer support, advocacy and year-round programming, including the campus's annual Gaypril celebration. While its services are aimed at students, LGBTQ+ Western is a visible part of the wider Bellingham queer community and a reason the city skews younger and more openly queer than its size might suggest.
