About this place Berkeley Aquatic Park

Berkeley Aquatic Park is a long, narrow lagoon park running alongside the I-80 freeway in West Berkeley. By day it is a public park used for rowing, walking, and picnics, but its quieter southern end near Bolivar Drive has carried a decades-long reputation as an informal gay cruising spot. As with any outdoor meeting area, discretion and awareness of surroundings matter, and activity here is far less prominent than in past years. The park keeps posted hours and closes at night, parking is limited after dark, and it is patrolled, so visitors should respect the rules and local laws. The United States broadly protects LGBTQ+ people, and Berkeley is among the country's most accepting cities.

This is a nice park with a playground, walking trail that loops around a lake, pool and fitness / community center. We played at the playground and walked the trail and found both to be in good repair, safe, and clean.

Lots of grass, lake trail, tennis courts, fenced-in dog area, and recreation center with classes and facilities. Recommend grabbing a blanket and some snacks, and spending some time people and dog-watching!

My daughter and her husband recently moved to Denver. This park is in walking distance of their house. The dog park is a great place for the dogs to enjoy each other and the dog owners a chance to network. Learned a lot about Denver from other dog owners. The walk around the lake has a wonderful view of the Mountains.

We are out-of-towners, and my brother took us here. We took the dog for a walk. It was chilly and a comfortable walk. The work in progress is coming along nicely. It is a nice walk, back and forth would be 2 miles, I am guessing.

Great location for birding. It's set up for Frisbee tossing. People come with theirs to do the course. The little lake is used by the Surfski club as a course and people come to do laps. BORP is here and a bike repair place which accepts bike donations, repairs them for people who need a bike.

Nice park. Played some disc golf. You just have to watch out for the homeless campsites scattered throughout. Maybe 3 on the 18 holes I played. A lot of walkers and bike riders

Bathroom is clean and safe, a must with children. The children can enjoy themselves while I enjoy a view of the lake. Adventures place to explore with my children. Parking is limited if parked by playground. Overall, beautiful.
