About this place Taylor House B&B

Taylor House B&B is a sixteen-room Victorian house from 1855, set in Boston’s Jamaica Plain, a short walk from Jamaica Pond.

This isn't some generic boutique hotel; it's a piece of Boston history, a well-kept suburban home with real character on a tree-shaded street. The owners make a point of welcoming LGBTQ+ guests, which is a nice touch.

Jamaica Plain itself is a real neighborhood, not just a tourist zone. You’ll find independent cafes, shops, and places to eat. It’s got a genuine local feel, but you can still get into central Boston easily enough. And Jamaica Pond is right there if you want some green space or a walk.

If you're looking for LGBTQ+-friendly lodging in Boston, this B&B feels more like staying in someone's lovely old house than a hotel. It’s definitely quieter than downtown, but you’re not out in the sticks – the city and its queer venues are still within reach. Find out more at http://www.taylorhouse.com/.

My wife and I stayed at the Taylor House Inn for two nights this weekend, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, Scott and Karen made us feel welcome. They are warm, personable, and genuinely caring hosts who have created a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. The home itself is charming, well-maintained, and full of character. Our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring Wilmington. One of our favorite aspects of the stay was the location. We enjoyed walking from the inn through the historic district and down to the Riverwalk, visiting shops, restaurants, and taking in the beauty of downtown Wilmington. Breakfast each morning was exceptional. Every meal was uniquely prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. It felt like dining at a boutique café, with attention to detail, flavor, and presentation that made each morning special. We also appreciated how safe, peaceful, and welcoming the inn felt throughout our stay. It truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you, Scott and Karen, for your hospitality and for helping make our weekend getaway so memorable. We highly recommend the Taylor House Inn and would happily stay here again on our next visit to Wilmington.

We stayed for two nights and everything about the experience was top notch. The owners are wonderful and truly go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. The inn is beautifully decorated, charming, and feels like stepping back in time in a perfect way. Our room was very clean and felt like home. The meals provided were works of art and tasted just as good as they looked. All around a great experience and very reasonably priced. It’s also a short walk from the River Walk which is a really fun place to explore. 10/10 experience all around.

Lovely atmosphere and the classical music playing reminded me so much of the home I grew up in. And the French toast for breakfast was divine, best French toast ever!

My wife and I recently visited Wilmington and stayed at the Taylor House. The place was comfortable and convenient to the area. My favorite was the French Toast at breakfast. It was the best ever.

The two of us spent a wonderful romantic weekend in Wilmington this March, and we couldn’t have found a better place than The Taylor House B&B. From the moment Karen opened the door for us, we felt welcome and enchanted by this place. It’s an old (circa 1905) building that kept its historic charm and original glass and woodwork: a stately staircase, traditional library and salon on the ground floor, overlooking a garden, and a formal dining room. Antique furniture, artifacts, live flowers everywhere and soft classical music playing completed the picture. Our room, “Love” on the second floor, was bright, large and well-appointed. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom is large and well-organized. The highlight of our stay was breakfast prepared every day by Scott: he tried to convince us that he was not a professional chef, but these meals exceeded our expectations at every turn, from the food itself to the tasteful presentation: segmented grapefruit decorated with blueberries and strawberries, small frittata on the bed of tomatoes, the list goes on… Our hosts, Karen and Scott, were warm and welcoming, knowledgeable about the area, attentive to our needs, but not imposing… Small gestures like night turndown service, chocolate in the room, tea and fresh water in the hall speak volumes about the quality of service and the hosts’ sincere desire to make our state enjoyable. Thank you so much, Karen and Scott, we’ll be back!

We had a wonderful long weekend at the Taylor House Inn. Scott and Karen were lovely hosts and pleasant conversationalists, eager to recommend local delights that suited our interests. The house is beautiful, and the room we stayed in was spacious and comfy. We spent some of our evenings in the library, relaxing or playing a board game. In the morning, there was always a fresh pot of coffee waiting for us on the side bar in the hallway outside our room, along with a nice assortment of tea bags. Each morning Scott served a different and delicious breakfast which included juice as well as coffee or tea. We had French toast, parfaits, frittatas, and many more delights during our time there. We would highly recommend staying at the Taylor House Inn for any couple looking to stay in Wilmington. The house and hosts are lovely, and the location is only a short and convenient walk away from downtown!
