The Alley

The Alley is a gay bar on Pi Alley, a narrow lane off Washington Street in Downtown Crossing. It's a casual, no-fuss place where most of the crowd is men and most are regulars. Bigger, hairier guys feel at home here. Drinks are reasonably priced for Boston and the music is mostly pop. It's open every day from 2pm to 2am. Afternoons are quiet and good for a drink after work, and it fills up later in the week. Bring photo ID, because it's scanned at the door. Downtown hotels and the Financial District are a few minutes' walk away, and most of the South End bars are a short cab ride.
