About this place The Alley

The Alley is a gay bar and club on Pi Alley in downtown Boston. It's a small place, dark and a little grimy, but that's part of its charm. Think dive bar meets club. You'll find it tucked away on a cobblestone alley, just a block from the Old State House. Inside, there's a small dance floor that gets packed, especially later in the week. The crowd is mostly men, a mix of regulars and out-of-towners, all looking for a good time. Drinks are cheap, and the music is loud, usually pop and dance hits. It's the kind of place you go to let loose, not for a quiet conversation. Like any bar, you'll need valid ID to get in. Hours can change, so check their social media before you head out. It's close to the Financial District, so if you're staying downtown, it's an easy walk.

Gay Gay-friendly (straight venue) Lesbian / Women-focused LGBTQ+ Drag shows

Nice of them to show world cup games, but surly bartender. I'd rather go to a straight bar like The Point, where I always get great service. Clientele were cliquish, too.

Nice spacious clean bar, but way too bright in there. It feels like it's always last call.
