Harriet Hancock LGBT Center

The Harriet Hancock LGBT Center, at 1108 Woodrow Street in the Shandon neighborhood, is Columbia's LGBTQ+ community center and one of the first LGBTQ+ centers in the Southeastern United States, founded in 1993 and named for local activist Harriet Hancock. The center runs youth programming (Youth OUTLOUD), an adult Queer Collective, First Sunday Suppers, a Pop-Up Closet clothing program, and the annual Legacy Gala. It serves as the main hub for support groups, resources, and community events across the Midlands.
