Hugh Taylor Birch State Park (Gay Cruising Area)

The wooded northern end of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, where the trails run between A1A and the Intracoastal near Sunrise Boulevard, has a long-standing daytime gay cruising reputation, as does the quieter beach stretch at the park's north end (near NE 18th Street). It is otherwise an ordinary state park - joggers, families, kayak rentals - so the usual discretion applies, and it keeps daylight hours (roughly 8am to sunset, small entry fee). Florida is generally welcoming and this is a documented, long-tolerated spot, but standard public-space caution is sensible after the crowds thin.
