About this place Grand Rapids Pride Center

The Grand Rapids Pride Center is the anchor of LGBTQ+ community life in West Michigan and, by its own account, the longest-running LGBTQ+ resource center in the state. Founded in 1988 as the Lesbian Gay Community Network of Western Michigan, it operates from Atlas Avenue SE in the East Hills area and keeps regular weekday hours. Beyond a welcoming drop-in space, the center runs ongoing programming — support and social groups for adults, youth programming, and community events throughout the year. It is also the organizer of the annual Grand Rapids Pride Festival, held each June at Calder Plaza downtown. For LGBTQ+ visitors, it's the best single point of contact for connecting with the local community, finding resources or learning what's happening while you're in town.
