What reviewers say

Visitors praise The Woods Resort for its relaxing atmosphere, comfortable cabins, and enjoyable clothing-optional pool, noting it's a great place to meet people. However, a significant complaint is the confusing and restrictive pool access for hotel guests, with some reporting they were unable to use it despite booking specifically for that amenity.

About this place The Woods Resort - A Gay Friendly Resort

The Woods Resort: a gay-friendly hotel in Guerneville, a small town in California's wine country known for its LGBTQ+ community and redwood forests.

You can walk to Armstrong Woods Park in two minutes from this hotel. That means easy access to redwood forests and hiking trails, a good setup for anyone who wants to mix some relaxation with getting outside.

There's an outdoor pool, which is where people tend to gather. Every room has free Wi-Fi, along with a microwave and coffee maker for quick meals or drinks. The hotel is close enough to Guerneville's restaurants, shops, and bars, but still feels like a quiet spot.

It's a solid choice if you're looking for an LGBTQ+-friendly place to stay that puts you near both natural beauty and a welcoming town.

I love The Woods Cottages and Pool. It's always relaxing and a chill vibe where you can meet great people and make new friends. The ocean is 20 minutes away for stunning drives up or down the coastline. Lots of fun activities to do within a few minutes walk. When Im enjoying the Cottages pool I like having the option to wear zero clothing. It's extremely liberating and a sexy experience to witness. Day passes are available for under $20 and $5 extra if you bring a furry friend 🐕 A favorite of mine is the play area in the back by the showers. One suggestion though is to cover those areas that are in direct sunlight with shade cloth a canopy or large umbrellas. When it's 90 + degrees outside, the sun ruins the fun and it's way to warm. The pool is an amazing Queer and LGBTQ+ Safe Space and Michael the Owner is a great guy as well as his attentive and kind staff. I will keep coming back year after year! I love this place and so will you. 😎🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I really enjoy it here. I haven't stayed, but I buy day passes to the pool. Ad if may 2025, the day pass is $18. It's really relaxing at the clothing-optional pool. The lounge chars and umbrella are in good condition and there are enough shady spots. Sometimes they will play music. Alcohol isn't sold here, but you're swlcime to go across the street to Safeway and buy non-glass containers to bring back to the pool. I really enjoyed that there was a shower in the back. I was able to shower away all the sunscreen and chlorine before I left back home.

Friendly off-season getaway. Cottages feature a comfortable bed, small gas fireplace, on-demand hot water. Good for a short vacation of hiking in the redwood forest or to the picturesque coast.
