Maui Sunseeker Resort

Flight got canceled on my check in day and they felt the need to still charge me for it. It's out of my control and they just didn't care. Don't stay here! I called off and on for 3 hours and left several vociemails before I could get a hold of anyone. Tough to do on such a frustrating day.

I had a great experience here, found it last minute after other lodging fell through. The room was immaculate, very cozy. Nice little pool and hot tub to relax in and directly across from the beach (it's a quiet strip of beach, not one of the touristy ones). The girls at the desk were incredibly nice and helpful. Definitely at the top of my list next time I'm on the island.

This hotel is great! It's right on the beach and has perfect rooms and an amazing campus. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The best part is the location, you're just outside of town, so traffic is very low.

Room definitely not like shown on website. It was not clean, needed updating, Rust on both refrigerator doors, multiple spots in tub that were rusty / dirty. Dirty rag in between seat cushions on couch. Spot on wall that needed repair and repainting. Did not stay and they would not refund us first night. Reached out to Hotel manager by phone, email and through website with no response. Charged us for the first night anyway. Rated a 1 star only because it wouldn't allow zero.

Do not stay here. Pictures do not paint the picture. You can get a better experience by spending more or less money at ANY other place on island.

We stayed here for our anniversary during the Kona Storm in March 2026 (this past weekend). Through the worst of the storm we felt safe and cared for by Leni. She went above and beyond to ensure we were safe and dry (as dry as possible) during torrential downpours. Hotel lost power for 3 days but we were able to make the best of a tough weather situation with the amenities available. We'll stay here again in the future, during better weather.

Its a super convenient location on South Keihe Road.

I was disappointed with our stay at Kohea Kai. I expected the grounds and room to be more beautiful like the website images. The king bed was comfortable and the bathroom was updated, but the room was very small. The coffee maker was on top of the microwave which was on top of the refrigerator and the power strip connecting them all would occasionally go out. The carpet (yes carpet) on the patio and hallways leading to the room was dirty and when it rained it soaked up the water. The outside furniture was rusted and parts of the exterior wall was falling off. The screen door fell off of our small patio while we were there. The pool was tiny and no one used the hot tub or pool the 4 nights we were there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the availability of beach towels and beach chairs. The price was reasonable and the location was fine, but I would not stay here again.

Leni at front desk is amazing ! She really made sure that we had a wonderful stay. Clean rooms, beautiful ocean view king suite. Complimentary beach towels and chairs. Leni is so friendly and funny. Brings good vibes to the hotel :)

Not the most updated hotel, but fantastic staff and the rooms were clean! Amazing location that was right across the street from the beach and just a few min down the road from an amazing food truck oasis. Just a short drive from the airport, shopping, and tons of hiking and food options. They even have beach chairs and umbrellas that you can use so you don’t have to buy any. Would definitely come back here again!
