This place was so good. We love to try new places for ice cream when we are traveling and this place was so good. Will definitely come back next time we are in town.

The ice cream here is absolutely delicious—especially the Maria cookie guava flavor, which I highly recommend. Unfortunately, I am giving a one-star rating due to a concerning interaction I witnessed involving a staff member who appeared to be a manager (curly hair with highlights). I observed her telling an elderly man, who was visibly struggling to walk, that he was not allowed to sit in the available outdoor seating. She then threatened to call the police on him. This was particularly upsetting, as the gentleman was not causing any disturbance and simply needed to sit due to apparent back issues. He is also well known in the area as a kind and harmless individual. It was disheartening to witness such a lack of compassion, especially when the rest of the staff were otherwise pleasant. I sincerely hope ownership addresses this situation, as it left a very negative impression despite the quality of the product.

Azucar was one of our favorite stops in Miami. It’s a small, busy shop that feels more like an old-school neighborhood ice cream parlor than a tourist attraction. They have a huge selection of unique flavors, and they’re happy to let you sample before deciding. Everything we tried was excellent, but the flavors that seem unique to Azucar are definitely worth getting. The Cafe Con Leche was especially good if you like coffee flavored ice cream. The line was pretty long when we visited, but it moved surprisingly fast, so it wasn’t a big deal. What I appreciated most was that it felt more authentic than some of the other ice cream places in the area. It was popular, but it didn’t have that overly touristy, gimmicky feel. Just really good ice cream, unique flavors, and a fun local atmosphere. Would absolutely go back.

Absolutely wonderful. They make their own waffle cones in house. Service was great.
