This hotel was truly 5 star. Great service, food, and location. Personally, I loved having the mall next door bc everything I needed was just a 5 min walk away. I loved the pool and the rooftop. Vivian at the front desk was amazing!

The rooms were very clean and were the best part. However we had several bad experiences that made it so we won’t be returning. First being, this was supposed to be an engagement weekend, the hotel promised us chocolates on the bed, they were not delivered and no compensation was provided. Finally, at 8:00am on the morning of checkout, someone from staff rang our door and turned on all the lights, even though checkout was at 12:00pm. No apology was given or reason for this. For the price point, we would not be returning.

Absolutely the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We fully prepaid more than $1,000 through Chase Travel for a suite at EAST Miami for September 26–27. We arrived around 2:20 PM, but the front desk could not locate our reservation despite having a valid confirmation number. After waiting approximately 45 minutes, we had to leave for other commitments. Staff tagged our luggage and assured us the issue would be resolved. When we returned around 10:30 PM, nothing had been resolved. The Guest Experience Manager, Dan Yamaoka, said he was “upgrading” us to a two-bedroom suite. At approximately 1:57 AM, we were taken to a room where our luggage had already been placed. The suite reeked of cigar smoke and contained open liquor bottles, towels on the floor, unmade beds, and clear evidence that previous guests had just left. It had not been cleaned at all. I have photos documenting the condition. After we showed Dan the photos, he said the hotel was sold out and offered only a room with two double beds. He did not proactively offer a refund; I had to request a refund for the more than $1,000 stay and separately ask that the approximately $60 valet fee be waived. The replacement-room keys did not work, and we were told to return to the lobby because no one could assist us upstairs. The room was far smaller than what we booked, faced another building, and had a cockroach on the balcony. One bed also had what appeared to be Oreo crumbs on and underneath the sheets. The next day, valet initially tried to charge us the $60 fee despite Dan’s written confirmation that it had been waived. Staff said they did not know who Dan was, and we spent another 10 minutes resolving the issue. This hotel failed on reservation handling, cleanliness, communication, and basic customer service. I would never stay at EAST Miami again and would not recommend it to anyone. If you are considering luxury-hotel prices, stay somewhere else.
