YES Institute

YES Institute is a Miami non-profit, based on Sunset Drive in South Miami, that runs education courses and facilitated dialogues on gender and sexual orientation. It started in 1996 as a community effort to address suicide rates among young people who were gay or were labelled as gay, and added courses on gender in 2003. Its audience is mostly parents, students, teachers, nurses and other professionals, not travellers. The office is listed as open weekdays 9am to 5pm. Courses run by appointment or on a schedule, so contact them before turning up.
