About the event

RSVP TO THIS EVENT HERE
There is so much that can feel possible when we take our narratives and lineages of resilience into our own hands. In honor of Trans Day of Remembrance/Resilience join us for an evening of music, poetry, and an multigenerational conversation moderated by the incredible Pauline Park, about the ways we stay grounded, connected, and hopeful.
The name Rising From the Ashes (Resurgiendo de las Cenizas) is given to us by trans elder, Esmeralda.
Since 1978, Sage has led the way in advocating for policies, services, and resources that empower LGBTQ+ elders to live openly and authentically. Our dedicated team members work nationally and globally to protect our rights, build health and longevity, and preserve the vibrancy of our community as we age.
Often isolated from their immediate families, trans and queer people are getting lost in the U.S. immigration system. The Trans and Queer Community Fund supports trans and queer folks impacted and incarcerated by ICE. The fund seeks to accommodate requests for Commissary, Communication, Legal Fees, and Re-entry Support.
ProjectSEL is a mental health support and resource hub for trans & queer immigrants in New York City.
The Bureau of General Services—Queer Division is Manhattan’s only queer bookstore, located on the second floor of the LGBT Center. We’re open Tuesday-Sunday from 1-7pm and accessible by the 6th Ave 1 2 3 L trains and 8th Ave A C E trains. Our cafe, The Bureau Cafe, is open Tuesday-Sunday from 9am-7pm.
